I’m Lee Chaix McDonough, a business coach, therapist, and the creator of Coach with Clarity®.

Coach with Clarity is a holistic framework that fuses meaning, mindset, and mindfulness with grounded intuition and solid business strategy to help you excel at entrepreneurship and transform your life and the lives of your clients.
As part of that framework, I’ve created the Certified Clarity Coach training program, an ICF accredited certification program designed to train and certify intuitive, service-focused professionals to become powerful coaches.
During this 7-month, 125 hour program, you’ll build your foundations as a coach and get practical experience coaching others. You’ll learn a unique coaching modality that’s inspired by the tenets of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). With a focus on meaning, mindset, and mindfulness, this ACT-informed approach to coaching will help you support clients and your own personal growth.
You’ll graduate the program with mastery of the Coach with Clarity Framework, equipped with both the skill set and the mindset to be an extraordinary coach and a successful entrepreneur.

Module One: Coaching Fundamentals
Module One focuses on core coaching skills. This includes co-creating the coaching relationship, building trust and rapport, establishing the client’s agenda, working through mindset blocks, and taking values-based action.
In this first module of the program, you’ll master the C.A.R.E. Model for connecting with your coaching clients, and discover how to conduct a powerful coaching session with the Keyhole Coaching™ Method. You’ll also be certified in Clarity Mapping™, an extraordinary tool designed to help your client tap into their intuition as they create a vision and action plan to achieve their deepest goals.
We also take a deep dive into coaching ethics, and discuss Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in coaching and what it means to practice through an anti-racist lens.
Module Two: An ACT-Informed Coaching Practice
The Certified Clarity Coach training program is anchored in Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT), a powerful approach to working with clients. In this 4-week module, you’ll learn about the 3 Ms – Meaning, Mindset, and Mindfulness – and how to integrate them into your coaching work with clients and communities.
You’ll also be introduced to the 6 Core Processes and the 6 Shadow Processes, and learn specific coaching techniques to navigate your client through any journey.
Module Three: Advanced Topics in Coaching
With a strong foundation in coaching skills through an ACT lens, we’re ready to tackle more advanced subjects. In Module Three, we explore how to apply coaching skills with couples and groups, how to support clients who have lost momentum or who are not achieving their goals, and we take an even deeper look at DEI in practice.
Module Three also includes training on how to build systems and structures to support the business of coaching, including marketing and logistics.
Module Four: Continued Coach Development
We spend the final weeks of the program looking at how coaches can continue to grow and develop in this field. We examine what it means to “self-coach” and how to foster a coaching mindset, and we look at how to grow one’s business by creating a spectrum of services. We conclude this module with an exploration of how to end a coaching relationship in a way that honors the client’s growth and offers opportunity for further connection.
Upon successful completion of the program, you’ll graduate as a Certified Clarity Coach, equipped to support clients as they create powerful change in their lives.

- Establish and maintain high-functioning coaching partnerships anchored in mutual trust and respect, congruent values, and professionalism.
- Apply a structured approach to coaching partnerships to consistently guide clients through clarifying their vision, co-creating goals for the overall coaching experience and for individual sessions, and taking values-aligned action.
- Engage in coaching techniques consistent with the Coach with Clarity framework and ICF Core Competencies to help clients work through internal and external blocks to success.
- Incorporate your intuition, energy, and innate wisdom with coaching skills and strategy to support clients in developing new insights and taking bold action.
- Demonstrate ethical coaching consistent with the ICF Code of Ethics and Core Competencies, including bringing an anti-racist perspective to coaching practices.

The Certified Clarity Coach training program is designed to support those who are interested in working as professional coaches, either as internal coaches (coaches hired to serve within an agency or organization) or within their own coaching business.
There's no formal education or training prerequisite for this program. All experience levels are welcome. While having education and/or experience as a service-based professional is preferable, it's not required.
Participants should familiarize themselves with Coach with Clarity’s values of Radical Service, Conscious Connection, Powerful Presence, and Liberative Love to ensure their personal values and beliefs are consistent with our program values. We are actively involved in creating an anti-racist society and prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusivity in our approach to coaching and business building.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes! The Certified Clarity Coach training program is accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) as an Approved Coach Specific Training Hours (ACSTH) program.
This is a 125-hour program, which meets the training requirement for both the ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credentials.
To get started, fill out the application here. Your application will be reviewed and you may be invited to schedule a call with Lee, who will answer any questions you may have before you join.
The next round of the Certified Clarity Coach program will begin in Spring 2023.
The Certified Clarity Coach program is a 125-hour training program, separated into three phases.
All Phase 1 training is self-study and can be watched at the student's discretion. The schedule for Phase 2 and 3 sessions will be released in 2023. All peer coaching and self-directed learning can be scheduled at the student’s discretion.
For students enrolled in Phase 2 or 3, plan on 6 hours per week (2 hours of classroom learning, 2 hours for coaching labs, and 2 hours for peer coaching sessions).
Participants are expected to attend training sessions and coaching labs live, and to engage in the discussions and activities to their fullest ability.
However, we understand that life happens, and it may be necessary to miss an occasional session due to emergencies. Participants may miss no more than a total of 3 classroom learning sessions and 2 coaching labs.
In the event of an emergency or unavoidable conflict during a Tuesday classroom learning session, participants are expected to watch the session replay, which will be available in the student portal within 24 hours of the session.
In the event of an emergency or unavoidable conflict during a Thursday coaching lab, participants must make up the hours by selecting from the following options:
- Conducting and recording two additional one-hour peer coaching sessions (with their assigned peer or with another student in the same cohort). These recordings must be submitted to the Director of Training. This is the preferred option.
- Reading a pre-approved book on the practice of coaching and submitting a book report (may only be done once for up to 4 asynchronous learning hours)
- Listening to a pre-approved episode of the Coach with Clarity podcast on the practice of coaching and submitting a podcast report (each podcast and report will count for 1 asynchronous learning hour; participants may listen to up to 4 podcasts)
The Certified Clarity Coach training program includes 125 contact hours. These hours are broken down as follows:
- 42 hours of classroom learning (2 hours per week on average)
- 38 hours of skill application during supervised coaching labs (2 hours per week on average)
- 40 hours of skill application during peer coaching (2 hours per week – one as peer coach, one as peer client)
- 5+ hours of self-directed skill development (reading course texts and completing accompanying assignments)
At present, the Certified Clarity Coach program is 100% online, in part due to COVID restrictions. All classroom learning sessions and coaching labs are conducted via Zoom. The program will remain virtual for 2021, with in-person training to be considered in 2022.
The Certified Clarity Coach training program is conducted in English.
The training program includes two ten-week peer coaching cycles. During each cycle, participants will be paired with a peer coach and with a peer client, and are expected to conduct ten one-hour sessions with each. Participants should coordinate a schedule for peer coaching with their assigned partners.
When in the role of peer client, participants agree to come to the session prepared with an appropriate topic for coaching, and to support the peer coach in applying the skills covered in the learning sessions and coaching labs. Peer clients will be asked to provide constructive feedback to their peer coach at regular intervals during the ten-week coaching relationship.
When in the role of peer coach, participants agree to treat the peer coaching relationship as if it were a professional coaching relationship. The peer coach agrees to maintain client privacy and will not disclose information shared in a coaching session with anyone other than Coach with Clarity faculty.
If there are any conflicts or issues in the peer coaching relationship, participants are expected to first engage in conflict resolution with their partner, if appropriate. If a participant is unable to achieve resolution or has specific concerns that are not appropriate to discuss directly with their partner, they should notify the Training Director.
Phase 1 tuition (30 self-study training hours): $2500
Phase 2 tuition (20 coaching hours, 10 mentor coaching hours): $4500
Phases 1 and 2 purchased together: $6000
Phase 3 tuition (65 training and coaching hours): $6000
Phases 1, 2, and 3 purchased together: $11,000
10 hours of mentor coaching (7 group, 3 individual) are included in Phase 2 of the program.

Here’s the full withdrawal/refund policy for the Spring 2023 cohort:
Phase 1 registration fees are non-refundable.
Phase 2 and Phase 3 deposits are non-refundable.
If a student pays in full and withdraws on or before 14 days before the start of Phase 2 or 3, they will be refunded their tuition, minus the registration deposit and any associated bank or credit card processing fees.
If a student opts for the payment plan and withdraws on or before 14 days before the start of Phase 2 or 3, they will not be charged the regular monthly tuition payments.
No refunds will be given within two weeks of the start day. If a student chooses to withdraw, they forfeit all tuition paid to date. Participants on a payment plan will continue to be charged monthly tuition until their balance is paid in full.Sp
